Friendly Smiles, Plane Rides, and My New Favorite Country Morocco!

Driving to the Sahara Desert on the 12 hour bus ride!

I am riding on a bus to the Sahara Desert. Resisting the waves of nausea, I reflect on the last two weeks.

I arrived in Madrid to my sister’s in-laws, Mayra and Raul, waiting patiently for me at the gate. I didn’t know them very well, but it was good to see familiar faces. Even though they have two kids and other family visiting they took me in with open arms, cooked delicious traditional Spanish food, and made sure I had a great time! We went to Toledo, an old Spanish town where their son Alberto stopped at every window displaying armor and swords. After a good cry when window-shopping got to be too hard it was decided he would write to Santa Claus.

My sister Beth's inlaws!
Thank you for your hospitality Mayra and Raul! You make me wonder if I’d go out of my way for my guest as you both did for me. It meant a lot to me!

My friend Okem arrived in Madrid and two days later we made our way to my new favorite country… Morocco!!

I am now sitting on the terrece of our Riad (small hotel) looking over the Sahara desert. Where to start- I have no idea! I will try to explain this very hospitable country to the best of my abilities!

I am pausing this story… I have to go! It is time for us to get on our camels and ride into the sunset to camp in the yellow dunes for the night!

Really?! Is this really happening?!!
After I wrote this blog this is a little taste of what happened! More to come!!!
